Congress rejects plans to fight monitor lizards

Cape Coral city officials had hoped the U.S. government would send trappers and other experts to help destroy the destructive lizards, but Congress has passed on that program this fiscal year, a federal wildlife official said Thursday, meaning the city will not get a cut of the $2 million previously proposed - June 30, News-Press
