Crystal River power plant named one of nation's dirtiest

Progress Energy's coal-burning power plant in Crystal River -- one of the largest in the country -- has again been named one of the dirtiest plants in the nation in a new report by a nonprofit group that ranked the plant among the top 50 polluters in its total output of four substances harmful to public health and the environment: sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and mercury - July 29, AP
