Plan in works to protect manatees

Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are planning dozens of aerial surveys to look at Collier County boat traffic for the next year and, for the next two years, to keep track of manatees -- the results of which could lead to changes in the way the county protects manatees, including rules for building marinas, boat speed regulations, seagrass protections and programs to educate the public about manatees - July 27, Naples Daily News
