Opinion: Rigs are coming: Florida losing offshore drilling battle

Florida's senators say it was the best deal they could hope for in a chamber hell-bent on carpeting the Gulf of Mexico in wall-to-wall rigs and if they had not cooperated with fellow senators on this point, the permissible drilling line might be moved as close as 50 miles from Florida shores; yet we have no confidence the 125-mile limit will stand up for long - Aug. 4, Bradenton Herald
