'State of the Scrub' reveals most of the wild ridge is going, going, gone

Thirty-six endangered species that cling to existence in scattered tracts along the Lake Wales Ridge that have somehow escaped the bulldozer or the plow remain in danger despite ambitious efforts to preserve their habitat, a recently published report concludes - Oct. 9, Lakeland Ledger
