Apalachicola River system threatened

A new federal study documents lower water levels because of declining flow during summer and erosion of the river channel and banks; the Apalachicola is nearly 5 feet lower in one area because of straightening, dredging and other work by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the study states - Aug. 23, Tallahassee Democrat
