Preservationists battle Rainbow River project

Preservationists have dug in to defend one of Florida's pristine waterways -- the Rainbow River, designated an Outstanding Florida Water -- against Rainbow River Ranch, a 260-acre project that also would include a commercial center, clubhouse, docks and a storage area for boats and recreational vehicles on the spring-fed river that flows 5.7 miles to the Withlacoochee River before reaching the Gulf of Mexico - Aug. 16, Tampa Tribune
