What's putting the itch in the Ichetucknee

A series of incidents in which people suffered rashes and allergic reactions in the Ichetucknee springs and river has prompted a state investigation, bringing new attention to the nitrate-fueled algae suspected to be the cause; since 1999, at least 34 incidents of allergic reactions have been reported by people visiting springs at seven state parks, and more than 20 occurred at Ichetucknee Springs State Park - Aug. 25, Gainesville Sun
