Mediation may hasten protection of Wakulla Springs

Tallahassee and opponents of the city's wastewater spray field agreed to mediation in an attempt to resolve their differences, a move that Wakulla County's attorney said could help speed protection of Wakulla Springs; as much as 20 million gallons per day of wastewater is sprayed on crops at the spray field along Tram Road, which scientists say is a likely source of nitrogen in groundwater that is causing Wakulla Springs to become choked with weeds and algae - Aug. 25, Tallahassee Democrat
